Do you know your publications from your stacks? Your embeds from your unlisted posts? Join the #DigitalJedi @intSchools rebellion and become a master on #SocialMedia. This 5-stage guide will take you from an Issuu #SocialPadawan to a #DigitalJedi.
Congratulations on completing stage 1 of your training. Now young #SocialPadawan, come forward and continue your Issuu training. Now that you’ve got to grips with the basics of what this platform has to offer, let’s push it up a notch.
Discover STACKS: Imagine this, you walk into your living room and find a large pile of unorganised books on the floor. What would you do with them? You’d arrange them on a bookshelf of course. Maybe chronologically, in sections of related books, or books by the same author. This is exactly what stacks can offer you. Users and followers can choose to follow a stack to see all relevant and interesting content to them in one place. These stacks can also be embedded on your websites either as a whole stack or as individual posts, depending on personal preference.
So you’ve sent out your publication and it’s now visible on Issuu. Great! But how are my parents/students and prospectives going to find it? Of course, they could come directly to Issuu, but how else could we get your content out there? Issuu makes it easy to easily embed your publications or stacks directly onto your website.
Click on your publications
Click on Share > Embed on website

Choose how much space you’d like the embed to occupy on your page. We recommend choosing responsive width so that the width varies depending on the device that is being used to view the content. You can also update the background colour so that it fits in with your website. You can input your school website’s hex code to make sure that your publication does not juxtapose your website design.

For this stage, you’ll need to sign up to the premium plan ($35/month) to unlock the exclusive Issuu features. Once upgraded, you’ll be able to remove any Issuu branding from your publication, let viewers see your other publications as suggestions once they have read it and hide the share button.

Click on GET CODE to copy your embed code. Then simply paste this code into the source code of your Content Management System exactly where you want the publication to show. If you need more advice on how to do this, send us an email at content@interactiveschools.com.

Premium users can allow downloads of their publication. This could be particularly useful for school prospectuses that visitors to the site may want to download and view at a later date. It could also be a useful tool if parents/students want to download your publication to show to their friends and families what their child has achieved.
