#DigitalJedi Flickr Training Stage 5: #DigitalJedi

Ah! You have made it through the dark side, I had high hopes you would. It is our last day together young one, after this, you will be a #DigitalJedi, equipped with knowledge of The Flickr.

Let us begin…

While the digital space is full of endless possibilities we must not forget the power of physical media. Picture yourself as a prospective parent at an open day, there's a lot you like, a lot swaying you to make the choice. You take a moment to have a coffee and look down “oh, what’s this?” you say aloud, not afraid of speaking your thoughts. It is a photo book, full of incredible pictures that show just how incredible the school is. Your mind has been made up, you want to see your child in the next photo book. Job done! If you haven’t guessed, we will now be discussing how to turn your albums into a photo book.

Go to your album tab and mouse over the album you want to be printed, now select the book icon from the options that pop-up.

The page you will be taken to then guides you on the process for creating the book. If you are a pro member you will get $35 off of up to 4 photobooks per year!

As you will see, the photo book allows you to customise the size, paper, styles, captions, text and photo layout. Go wild and make it the best it can be!

GEOTAG:

To geotag your post you must find and click on the photo in your album/photostream. Scroll down until you see the ‘Add this photo to your map’ option.

Click "Add this photo to your map"

Type where the photo was taken in the search box and hit Enter.

The "Save location" dialog will appear. At the top it says: "Okay, we'll save that photo's location as:" This is where you pick what you would like the location of your photo to say, for example: "United Kingdom" or “England.”

Click "Save location" and then you are done!

For safeguarding purposes, we always advise avoiding posting locations until you have returned from the trip.

Finally, it is time to track your stats.

Any account can view stats of individual pictures by clicking on to them and seeing how many views, faves and comments it received.

Unfortunately, the stats service via the stats tab is for PRO users only, so we recommend signing up as the data provided is valuable in optimising your #SchoolStories.

On your page navigate to the stats tab.

Here you will be able to look around at a Source breakdown of how your photos were found along with Recent views and Top views. There is also a wide variety of breakdowns available, so set aside an hour and really take a deep dive into what's on offer.

That is all I have to teach you.

We stand by the swamp, and with the power of The Flickr you rescue your X - Wing and fly off, joining the @IntSchools rebellion. I am honoured to call you a #DigitalJedi.

Stage 5 is now complete and with it your training. You have taken the hard road and it has led you to become a #DigitalJedi.

You’ll be able to download a certificate of completion.

If you feel like you need more training, our #SocialJedi team here at Interactive Schools will be with you, always. Send an email to social@interactiveschools.com to plan in an INSET training date now.
